Erik; What "terminal box" are you referring to. We recommend using PVC
conduit in the ground. 1 inch works well. Buy individual wires number 6
THHN/THWN and number 8 THHN/THWN.
If you bring the conduit up just to the side of the spa, you can make a
transition to Flex Carlon liquid tight 3/4 inch with a ridged coupling and a
reducer bushing. You do not need a box outside the spa.
Pull the four wires up and out of the solid PVC first, then put the coupling
and reducer bushing over the wires. Then put the wires in the flex before
attaching it to the solid PVC. Leave a whip of 8 to 10 feet with the wires
hanging out about 8 inches on the end of the flex where the flex connector
goes.
The GFCI box must be put no closer than 5 feet of the spa and no farther than
50 feet, line of site to the spa. No one should be able to reach the GFCI
while in the spa.
The Spa is scheduled to leave this week. I have not been able to get an
exact time. We will be talking with the delivery guy either tomorrow or the
next day.
